Oh hell yeah! Logic Pro 10.4.5 is here, and unlike most double-point maintenance updates, this one is pretty awesome 🙂
10.4.5 is a welcomed update as it goes far into the hood of Logic Pro X and optimizes Projects for huge track counts and optimized project loading.

Logic Pro X 10 4 5 Update Version
It's always great to see a Logic update go live. And that's doubly true after the update that never materialized this past January.
First things first – the standard disclaimer:
No one except Apple ever really knows when an update might drop for Logic. They're historically a secretive bunch, and their pro apps never receive much fanfare.
However! Apple has done something sort of uncharacteristic over the last few years when it comes to LPX:
Apple started to release updates on a semi-regular schedule.
Every January in Anaheim, California a music merchant trade show occurs called NAMM. And for the last several years, Apple began to quietly drop updates right around that week of NAMM.

But this past January Apple skipped the highly anticipated Winter NAMM update drop.
Which was a HUGE bummer as a Logic user! I know Apple loves to run on their own schedule for their pro apps. But it was awesome having some semblance of a regular update schedule to look forward to.
So when I saw that yesterday's update was a 10.X.X update, my heart sank a little.
Double-point updates are often reserved for major bug fixes that need to get pushed out ASAP. The list of fixes tends to be pretty short.
The double-point update is typically not for major feature updates and huge lists of fixes.
While 10.4.5 doesn't serve up a new flashy feature like Smart Tempo, to say it's not a major update would be crazy!

The show stopper of 10.4.5 is the new Optimized Project Loading. A feature where Logic dynamically loads plugins and instruments only when you need them.
